With a striking resemblance to the Matthorn peak in Europe, Mt. Frey near Rathong Glacier lies
in the vicinity of the Mount Kabru, Rathong and Kokthang is West Sikkim. This
peak is well approached transversing Frey glacier. This peak is named after
famous mountaineer George Frey who is an attempt to climb this peak with Tenzing
Norgey fell and died. George Frey with confidence did not listen to the advise
of Tenzing Norgey to put on his crampons. Ice axe and crampons of George Frey
are still lying at the base of Frey peak as his memorial.

Eligibility:
- Every member must have to be mentally and physically fit.
- Specifically this group will be permitted by the IMF (Indian Mountaineering
Federation) and the Government of Sikkim.
Participation fees:
- For Indian Nationals: Rs. 22,000
- For foreigners: Rs. 45,000
Cost Includes:
- Inner line permit in Sikkim/Permission charges for the expedition.
- Porters/mules for carrying common goods, experienced guides for expedition.
- Three summit attempts.
Cost Excludes:
- Travel to Darjeeling.
- You will be charged extra for your own personal porter.
- Tips for Guides and Porters or staff.
- A hiring cost of
Rs. 3000 will be charged extra for
all necessary technical mountaineering gear.
- Any additional equipment that you will need to rent.
