Ocean Adventure & Leisure Outing- Karwar White water Beach - Oyster Rocks Island [1^st Nov to 3^rd Nov 2007]

About Oyster Rocks Island:

Oyster Rocks are the group of islands and rocks- Devad gudda is the main summit on which the Lighthouse is situated. The hill has very good forest growth around lighthouse. The landing at Devad gudda island (Oyster Rock) is on the eastern side. The LH expert D. Alan Stevenson during his visit to the station in January 1927 described it as over staffed station.  

About Karwar:

Karwar, the port town on the banks of the Kali Nadi River is the administrative head quarters of North Kanara District in Karnataka. Once an important trade centre especially for pepper, Karwar was also the settlement of the British and the Portuguese. The charming town is complemented by glorious weather and the area is very picturesque with hills and valleys of the Western Ghats covered with dense tropical jungle on the way to Hubli. Karwar located 518 kms from Bangalore is known for its fine muslin.

Approach :

The Oyster Rock lighthouse is approachable by a machine boat to be taken from Karwar port. The RT station at Karwar provides logistic support to the Oyster Rock Lighthouse. Karwar is situated on NH 17 

Route : Bangalore –Mangalore - Karwar - Oyster Rocks 

Plan: To camp at Island in the rough arabian sea. (To perform Ocean Adventure - II)

1. We have availed legal permission to camp at Oyster Rock Island near to Karwar.

2. Boat ride to Oyster rock with Dolphins all around.
3. Beach sports.

4. Snorkeling in Aquamarine water full of amazing marine life.

5. Scuba diving (at extra cost)

Tentative Schedule:   

Wednesday 31st Oct:
11:30 PM - Meet up at Opp. KFC - Indira Nagar 100ft road and CMH road junction. (due to traffic issues at Symphony theater we have decide to change the pickup point)

12:00 AM - Start from KFC. (on the way we can pickup people staying far off, but on the way to Tumkur only)

Thursday 1st Nov:
B'fast, Lunch on the way

Noon - Reach Karwar Port, Start the Oyster Rocks by Boat

Reach the Oyster Rocks
Relax, laze around, Play, romance, whatever you prefer ;)

Setup Tents

Campfire, Dinner 

Friday 2nd Nov:
08.00 AM - 08.30 AM Finish breakfast
09.30 AM – Start Ocean Adventure-II Get into the deep sea with snorkeling equipments...

01.00 PM – Reach Oyster Rocks and have lunch

02.00 PM – Swimming, Water Sports

08.00 PM - Campfire, Dinner

Saturday 3rd Nov:
08.00 AM - 08.30 AM Finish breakfast

10.00 AM - Start back to Land.
Roam around in Karwar, Have Lunch
03:00PM - Start back to Bangalore.

Things to carry:
Energy Food, Raincoat, warm cloths, extra pair of shorts/t-shirt, torch light, slippers, sunscreen lotion, camera. 

Expenditure:

Participation Fees: Rs. 3700.00
Above charges includes  Transport to and fro, 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunch, 2 Dinner (Veg/NVeg) on Oyster Rocks Island and accommodation at the Oyster Rocks in Tents, Sleeping bags, Boat charges, safety gears, Life jacket, Snorkeling equipments, miscellaneous.

1. Registration on First come First serve basis. Seat allotment will be on FCFS basis.
2. No Cancellation will be accepted. (No refund)
3. Need Advance payment for confirmation of registration. No on the spot payment will be accepted.
4. Consumption of alcohol is STRICTLY not allowed.
5. We are providing basic facilities, please do not expect luxury.
6. Facility of rest rooms on Oyster Rocks Island Light House will be arranged.
7. We will try our best to make it safe adventure for all age group people, we expect people not to try extra adventure.
8. We will be using Government of India property during this outing, discipline and respect towards that is expected from every participant.
