Kabini Backwater Camping and Jungle Safari -[20-21st Oct 2007]

Kabini:

Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in south India. Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary houses a number of endangered and rare species of animals. Some of the animals found here are leopard, panther, sambhar, spotted deer, cheetal, panther and 250 species of birds. The Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary is considered as one of the best bird sanctuaries in India.

The water body inside the forest is unique to the Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary. The dam across the river near Beechanahalli adds beauty to the wildlife reserve.


Route: It is about 220 kilometers from Bangalore. Buses and trains are available from Mysore. The Mysore-Mananthavadi road leads to the Karapur village.


 

Tentative Schedule:  

 

Saturday 20th Oct:

07:00 AM - Assemble at "Symphony Theater - MG Road, Bangalore "
07:30 AM - Start from Bangalore.

01:00 PM – Reach BMC camp site at Kabini. Have lunch, Coracling in backwater.
07:00PM - Barbeque, Campfire, Dinner.

                         
Sunday 21st Oct:
08.00 AM Finish breakfast
09.00 AM Jungle Safari at Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary  

02:00 PM Reach back to base camp

03:00 PM Depart to Bangalore

Things to carry:
Raincoat, warm cloths, extra pair of shorts/t-shirt, torch light, slippers, sunscreen lotion, camera.

 

Participation Fees: Rs. 1500.00

Above charges includes: Transport, 1 Break fast, 2 Lunch, 1 Dinner, Boat charges, accommodation charges, tent, sleeping bag, First aid, Jungle safari
