Kopatty hills is one of the few unknown trails in the Western Ghats located in Coorg district in the south- western part of Karnataka.It is 295 km from Bangalore. The trail going through jeep trails, dense jungles, water streams, outspread meadow and lush green grassland towards the peak, which is one the best experience for the trekking passionate and the distance from Bangalore makes it the most convenient trek for a weekend. It is located in the Talacavery range, 3kms from a small town called Cherambane before Bagamandala.

The entrance to the trek trail is prominent with an arch that leads to the Mahavishnu temple. Start moving to Kopatty hills on a tarred road for 2 km with paddy fields on both sides. After the tarred road the trail continues on a muddy jeep track for 20 min until you reach the first stream.Take left at the Y-intersection and after ten minutes you reach two abandoned houses that take you into the forest.

The forest trail is 2 km until you are in the open again. Overlooking the valley called Erullivana is a flat table top range of Mandalpatti. The peak can be seen from here. It is a ten-minute ascent to the peak which is marked with a flag where one can enjoy a 360-degree view of the western ghats. The altitude is 4300 ft (1375 mt) above sea level.

09:45 PM: Pick-up from New Shanthi Sagar Hotel, Domlur
10:00 PM: Pick up from Lifestyle, Magrath Road (Near Garuda Mall)
10:45 PM: Pick up from RR Nagar Arch, Mysore Road.

Saturday: 16th September 2017
06:00 AM: Reach Base - Freshen-up & Breakfast
08:30 AM: Travel to trek base in vehicle (40 km) & Start the trek
                    : Trek to peak - Have packed Lunch on the way up
01:00 PM: Reach Kopatty. Explore. Start back
07:00 PM: Reach back homestay. Relax. Campfire
08:30 PM: Dinner 


Sunday: 17th September 2017
06:30 AM: Wake up - Freshen-up
08:30 AM: Breakfast.
09:00 AM: Travel to Dubare for River Rafting (Self Sponsored)

01:30 AM   Have self sponsored lunch on the way and start back to Bangalore.
09:00 PM : Reach Bangalore.

Note: Drop points will be the same as pick-up points
