PS: 21st march is a holiday on account of Good Friday

Due to increase in the fuel prices and at the same time increase in the travel costs, BMC will be marginally increasing the participation fees for all it's treks in future as traveling expenses constitute the major part of the overall expense. BMC requests all it's members to cooperate.

About
Amedikallu:

Amedikallu, near village Shishila in Dharmasthala is one of the significant peaks of Charmadi range and there are three approaches to this peak. The name Amedikallu is a combination of two words: Ame - Turtle and dikkel - Tulu word for Stove. Amedikallu has a huge monolith at the top which appears like a giant turtle and 3 huge stones which give an appearance of a stove. This peak is surrounded by many other important peaks of Western Ghats. 

Amedikallu is considered to be one of the toughest in Karnataka and is a two day trek if one wants to make it to the peak comfortably.

Route:Bangalore - Nelamangala - Kunigal - Channarayapatana - Hassan - Sakaleshpura - Shiradi - Kokkada - Dharmasthala

Difficulty: Moderate to Very Difficult

Distance: 12 Kms approx. (Both way)

 

Tentative Schedule:
 20th March 10:00 pm          Assemble at Symphony theatre

10:30 pm          Depart to Shishila

 21st March

07:30 am          Reach Shishila

08:00 am          Breakfast

09:00 am          Start the trek

01:30 pm          Lunch

04:00 pm          Reach the peak & explore the place

07:00 pm          Campfire (if possible)

08:00 pm          Dinner

22nd March

07:00 am          Breakfast

08:00 am          Start the trek

02:00 pm          Reach the base camp

02:30 pm          Lunch

03:30 pm          Visit to river

06:00 pm          Start back to Bangalore

09:00 pm          Dinner

23rd March 08:00 am          Reach Symphony theatre

 

Participation Fees: Rs. 1400.00
Above charges includes: Transports, Accommodation/Tent, Sleeping bag,Food,Guide, Forest Charges, First aid etc..

 Shoes: With minimum grips/studs. preferably canvas or soft sole shoes if not rock climbing shoes.

2. No Cancellation will be accepted. (No refund)
3. Need Advance payment for confirmation of registration. No on the spot payment will be accepted.
4. Consumption of alcohol is STRICTLY not allowed.
5. We are providing basic facilities, please do not expect luxury.
6. No facility of rest rooms on Amedikallu , one can use natural resources.
7. We will try our best to make it safe for all age group people, we expect people not to try extra adventure.
